Change of Venue for Ryman Arts Benefit Breakfast6/25/2007 8:26 PM ESTWe have been overwhelmed with the continued response to the NFFC Ryman Arts Benefit Breakfast event, and we sincerely appreciate the support you have shown for this cause. The Board of Directors and Special Events Committee have been working to find a way to include as many people as possible in the event. This week, one door closed but, as is often the case in such circumstances, another door has opened. In late June we were informed by the management of Club 33 that they were cancelling our event on July 16th. Marty Sklar has been working with the NFFC and the Disneyland Resort, and we are pleased to announce that the Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel will host our event and all of the fundraising activities. This larger venue will also allow us to accommodate more members who were interested in attending. In addition, Marty Sklar will be our special guest during the event, and we are currently working on other special surprises to make this a morning to remember. The cost for the event at the Napa Rose will be $60. This all-inclusive price includes the breakfast buffet and a $15 donation to the Ryman Arts Foundation. Originally, the event included a one-day Park Hopper ticket. This, however, will no longer be the case. Our fundraising efforts will go on as scheduled, with special Ryman Foundation opportunities during the Convention and on the day of the event.
We will have several gift baskets: ¨ Mickey's 60th Birthday Basket: 60th birthday bell from Schmid collectibles, 60th birthday mug from ¨ The Disney Landmark Basket: Disneyland 30th Anniversary plate (LE 7,500), Tokyo Disneyland Grand Opening coin, Disney/MGM Studios Grand Opening coin (1 ounce fine silver, LE 5,000), Mickey's millennium water globe made exclusive for the May Department Stores. 40 Years of Adventure watch made exclusively for Cast Members and saluting the opening of the Indiana Jones attraction, an embroidered hat from the first Official Disneyana Convention, and a first edition copy of Dave Smith's book Disney from A-Z. ¨ The Fantasia Basket: WDCC set of the three mushrooms, four mini Fantasia plates sold only at Disney theme parks, and a 10 ½ " resin Sorcerer Mickey produced in Europe strictly for the European market. Gary Hackett and Gary Smith have donated the resin piece. ¨ Wands honoring some very famous Disney characters are also being created by for us. Made of 14K gold and genuine precious stones, these are beautiful one-of-a- kind pieces, and some can be worn as a pin or necklace. Our own Anita Schaengold is creating these pieces. Then, to spread the excitement of our fundraising event to those who are unable to come, we will be offering some very special items throughout the Convention. ¨ ACME Archives has donated a beautiful reproduction piece of Mary Blair concept art from Peter Pan, "The Mermaid Lagoon". The piece is on canvas and the approximate dimensions are 15"X34". This is a reproduction of a piece that is held in a private collection. The piece will be offered as an opportunity drawing during the week of the convention, and will be given away at the close of Convention. Be on the lookout for other special items either in the daily silent auctions or as opportunity drawings. You are not going to want miss purchasing tickets or making a bid on any of these wonderful items. And remember all proceeds raised from this event go entirely to benefit the Ryman Arts Foundation. We realize that some members initially supported this event at least in part because it was being held at Club 33. Please remember, however, the reason for this event in the first place: to support the Ryman Arts Foundation and inspire young artists to develop their artistic talents. Let's not lose site of this goal. If you are interested in attending this event at the Napa Rose and benefiting the Ryman Arts, please complete the registration form on the reverse side and mail it, along with your check, to the club. You'll find the address on the bottom of the registration form. We thank you for your support of our efforts to benefit the Ryman Arts Foundation, and look forward to your participation in this event now being held in the beautiful Napa Rose dining room. © 2005-2010 NFFC (National Fantasy Fan Club).
