49Ears Chapter To Host 8th Annual Disney Daze August 11

5/14/2007 3:27 PM EST

The Yosemite-Oakhurst-Sierra 49Ears Chapter will host its eighth annual Disney Daze on Saturday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event – which includes the participation of several Disney legends -- benefits a variety of local charities.

The festivities begin with a pre-event Mickey pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Breakfast, which includes early bird admission to the rest of the day's activities, is $7 for adults and teens and $3 for children under 9.

From 10 to 3, the activities include storytelling, displays, a silent auction, a raffle and "lots of pixie dust." Tickets for the event are $5 for adults and $3 for teens; children under 9 are free. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available for lunch.

This year, the event will be followed by a special dinner with Disney guests from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The evening's special guest will be Disney and NFFC Legend Marty Sklar. Marty has spent more than 50 years at Disney, including a long tenure as head of Imagineering.  Other scheduled guests (subject to change without notice) include Disney railroad expert Michael Broggie, Virginia Davis (star of Walt's early Alice comedies), artist Ron Dias, Imagineer Bob Gurr (genius behind the Disney vehicles), and Margaret Kerry (model for Tinker Bell).

Disney Daze will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Oakhurst, located on Highway 49, ¾ of a mile north of the Highway 41/49 signal.
