Share Your Passion For Disney!

OK, that's an exaggeration. But the media does often come to the NFFC looking for Disney fans to include in magazine and newspaper articles, radio programs and even TV shows.

They are looking for fans who are willing to talk about their passion for Disney and often also want to photograph Disney collections. Sometimes, they are also looking for people with unique Disney experiences.

Thank you all for your active participation in the approval of our new bylaws. Gary Schaengold and the Executive Committee have worked hard to rework the documents to update them and better reflect the continued direction of our great organization. I love NFFC! I love that we are united Disney enthusiasts, collectors, historians, and enjoy the benefits of working closely with the Disney Company.

OK so two new big changes have taken place in the bylaws that may affect you personally. We need to recruit a new Charities person AND a new Special Events Coordinator. Let me share with you my thoughts are these two positions.

Charities Chair ? This position is designed to target and focus on our East and West Coast charities. We've chosen Give Kids The World for the East and Ryman Arts Foundation for the West. The Charities chair will ensure that fundraising activities for both organizations take place. Whether it be a small raffle or a full-blown event like our wonderful Ryman Arts breakfast last year. The NFFC Board wants to ensure that we give both organizations as much publicity and financial support that we are able to give. This person would spearhead the activities, work closely with our key contacts at both organizations, work closely with the NFFC board to keep us up to today and manage the volunteers necessary to support each event. On occasion, our charities have they own events and we would need to try to make a presence and support them as well. This person can live anywhere in the United States, but should be someone interested in attending both FL and CA conventions. If you're interested, please let me know by email at Kendra@nffc.org.

Special Events Coordinator ? This position is designed to work with the Convention Chairman (Brian Hugo) but to take on all of our extra events separate from Convention. Examples of this would include Cruise events, Tokyo trip, New York Broadway event, El Capitan or Hollywood Bowl events or possibly the Part of Their World Dinner. The opportunity is limited by your imagination. Each event must stand alone financial at break even, but it is important to provide fun new activities that reach out to more of our membership. This person can live anywhere, is not expected to go to every special event, but should be able to attend some of them. If he/she is unable to attend, then they would need to appoint a strong partner to manage things in the SEC's absence.
